Pabelle Manikan

She is a Manila-based filmmaker with a degree in Digital Filmmaking from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. She worked on documentaries regarding Filipino socio-political and cultural traditions starting with Bukang Liwayway (2012) which was supported by the Goethe Instut of Manila and DocNet summer school in Vietnam. Currently , she works as a full time documentary film editor and does freelance jobs as a director and director of photography.

Bukang Liwayway by Pabelle Manikan shows the real scenario in Palawan behind its serene and picturesque spots. It features the lives of barrio folks, focusing on faith healer Babala and his patients and how they strive to survive using the scant supply of medical facilities
