Film Reviews

“…you hang on to every word, every turn of the head, every scratch of the chair, for any enlightenment they could provide…You are the child, the mother, even the mirror. Then the pain comes and you’re not prepared. You are in a rage but you are also shamed. You are not released. I have seen the play and then the movie. I promise you, it will not let you go.”

– May V. Rodriguez, Bantayog ng mga Bayani Executive Director

“De profundis (out of the depths)…what a powerful thing you have there”

– Ceres P. Doyo, Journalist

“Encouraging collective amnesia has devastating effects. The sins of the past, like those of Marcos’ martial law, will play themselves out over and over again until we learn the lessons that History begs us to acknowledge.”

– Susan Quimpo, Art therapist and counselor

Play Reviews

“Acted with harrowing, burrowing power by Skyzx Labastilla as the mother, the play’s treatment of fate and chance under unspeakable circumstances—and the wrenching question of whether to survive by erasing one’s memories, or to hang on to every lash for eventual cosmic justice—marks it as a profound new work in martial law literature.”

– Best Play (One Act) – Inquirer BRAVO! Best of Theater 2016

“Skyzx Labastilla (“Indigo Child”). Already exceptional in the The Virgin Labfest entry “Daddy’s Girl,” Labastilla easily exceeded herself with a towering, career-best turn in “Indigo Child.”

– Best Actress – Inquirer BRAVO! Best of Theater 2016
